Privacy Policy
Aak inc. (hereafter the “Shop”) acknowledges the importance of protecting the personal information of customers and shall strictly comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereafter the “Personal Information Protection Act”), as well as appropriately handle all such information according to the following privacy policy (hereafter the “Privacy Policy”).
(1) to provide the Shop’s service;
(2) to provide information on the Shop’s service and handle inquiries;
(3) to provide information on the Shop’s products, service, and other such information;
(4) to handle breaches of the Shop’s regulations and policies (hereafter the “Regulations”) regarding the Shop’s service;
(5) to notify changes made to the Regulations regarding the Shop’s service and other changes;
(6) to enhance the Shop’s service, provide new services, etc.;
(7) to create statistical data of the Shop’s service in which individuals cannot be identified; and
(8) for other purposes that accompany the above-mentioned purposes of use.
(1) it is permitted by law;
(2) it is necessary to protect life, health, or property of an individual and where it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer;
(3) it is specifically necessary to improve public hygiene or to promote sound development of children and where it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer; or
(4) a government agency, local authority, or its subcontractor needs to cooperate in performing administrative works and where obtaining the consent of the customer may affect the execution of these works.
(1)the Shop provides all or part of customers’ Personal Information to a third party in outsourcing the handling of Personal Information to them within the scope that is necessary to achieve the Purpose of Use;
(2) Personal Information is provided following a merger or other transfers of business; or
(3) Personal Information is shared and used in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act.
pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, on the ground that their Personal Information has been used beyond the scope laid out and published in the Purpose of Use or that it has been obtained through fraud or other illegal means, and if the request is deemed reasonable, the Shop shall implement the Suspension of Use, etc. without delay upon confirming that the Personal Information in question belongs to the same individual who is making the request. This provision, however, does not apply where the Shop is not obliged to implement the Suspension of Use, etc. by the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws.
1. Definition of Personal Information
In this Privacy Policy, Personal Information is understood as defined in the Personal Information Protection Act, Article 2(1), i.e., as information about a living individual that contains a name, date of birth, or other personal details and can be used to identify them (including information that can be easily combined with other information to identify them) or as information that contains an individual identification code.2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information
The Shop may use the personal information for the following purposes:(1) to provide the Shop’s service;
(2) to provide information on the Shop’s service and handle inquiries;
(3) to provide information on the Shop’s products, service, and other such information;
(4) to handle breaches of the Shop’s regulations and policies (hereafter the “Regulations”) regarding the Shop’s service;
(5) to notify changes made to the Regulations regarding the Shop’s service and other changes;
(6) to enhance the Shop’s service, provide new services, etc.;
(7) to create statistical data of the Shop’s service in which individuals cannot be identified; and
(8) for other purposes that accompany the above-mentioned purposes of use.
3. Changes Made to the Purpose of Use of Personal Information
The Shop may modify the Purpose of Use of Personal Information to the extent that is reasonably deemed relevant and shall either notify customers of such changes or publicly announce them if there are any such changes.4. Restriction on the Use of Personal Information
The Shop shall not use Personal Information beyond the scope that is necessary to achieve the Purpose of Use without the consent of customers except where such use is permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws. This restriction, however, does not apply to the following cases where:(1) it is permitted by law;
(2) it is necessary to protect life, health, or property of an individual and where it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer;
(3) it is specifically necessary to improve public hygiene or to promote sound development of children and where it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer; or
(4) a government agency, local authority, or its subcontractor needs to cooperate in performing administrative works and where obtaining the consent of the customer may affect the execution of these works.
5. Appropriate Collection of Personal Information
The Shop shall collect personal information only through appropriate means and not by fraud or other illegal means.6. Management of Personal Information Security
The Shop shall supervise its employees as appropriate and necessary to ensure the security of Personal Information against risks such as loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorized access or unauthorized disclosure. Also, where the Shop outsources all or part of the handling of Personal Information to a subcontractor, the Shop shall supervise them as appropriate and necessary to ensure they handle and manage the Personal Information securely.7. Provision to Third Parties
Except where the disclosure of Personal Information is permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws, the Shop shall not provide the Personal Information of customers to a third party without obtaining the customers’ consent in advance. However, provision of Personal Information to third parties does not apply to the following cases where:(1)the Shop provides all or part of customers’ Personal Information to a third party in outsourcing the handling of Personal Information to them within the scope that is necessary to achieve the Purpose of Use;
(2) Personal Information is provided following a merger or other transfers of business; or
(3) Personal Information is shared and used in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act.
8. Disclosure of Personal Information
If a customer makes a request to the Shop to disclose their Personal Information pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Shop shall do so without delay upon confirming that the Personal Information in question belongs to the same individual who is making the request (or where such information does not exist, shall inform them of this fact). This provision, however, does not apply where the Shop is not obliged to disclose by the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws.9. Correction to Personal Information
If a customer makes a request to the Shop to correct, make an addition to, or delete (hereafter “Corrections, etc.”) their Personal Information pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, on the ground that their Personal Information is inaccurate, the Shop shall first confirm that the Personal Information in question belongs to the same individual who is making the request, investigate without delay within the scope that is necessary to achieve the Purpose of Use, make Corrections, etc. to the Personal Information in question according to the result of the investigation, and then inform the customer of this fact (or where it has been decided to make no Corrections, etc., the customer shall be informed of this decision). This provision, however, does not apply where the Shop is not obliged to make Corrections, etc. by the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws.10. suspension of use of personal information
If a customer makes a request to the Shop to suspend the use of their Personal Information or delete it (hereafter, Suspension of Use, etc.)pursuant to the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, on the ground that their Personal Information has been used beyond the scope laid out and published in the Purpose of Use or that it has been obtained through fraud or other illegal means, and if the request is deemed reasonable, the Shop shall implement the Suspension of Use, etc. without delay upon confirming that the Personal Information in question belongs to the same individual who is making the request. This provision, however, does not apply where the Shop is not obliged to implement the Suspension of Use, etc. by the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws.
